After ample deliberation, I decided to pay for a domain name and for Web site hosting. Please follow the Grivel Website to its new address: www.grivel.net. I hope this new location will make it possible to expand the site even further.
Please update any bookmarks or links you may have. The old and new site will remain side by side for a while, but eventually I will stop updating the tripod.com location.

Welcome to the Grivel Web Site. This site is dedicated to researching and distributing just a tiny piece of human knowledge: information about the surname Grivel. However, I will try to do this one little task as good as possible.
For years, I have been fascinated with the rarity of my own Grivel surname. With the advent of the Internet, I started to get some idea of how rare this name actually is. And my desire to know more about it grew. I just wished there was a place where I could learn all about this name. Finally, I decided to create this place myself, and here it is: the Grivel Website.
This site has a number of main areas of interest, which are directly accessible through the navigation bar at the top. The main areas are:
Home, the general area for everything that doesn't fall in any of the other categories.
Genealogy provides access to my genealogical database containing hundreds of Grivels, their spouses and children. This database expands regularly with contributions from people all over the world.
